The Greater Yellowstone Coalition, a Bozeman based non-profit, wanted to establish a headquarters that was an extension of one of their core beliefs: preservation. With the help of their architect, they identified an existing warehouse structure to renovate under the goals of establishing LEED Certification. All interior material was salvaged and reused where possible to embrace the embodied energy of the existing warehouse. Interior wall framing was either reused as new framing or cleaned and re-installed as a Donor Wall. Likewise, single pane exterior windows were salvaged and reused as interior borrowed lights. The project resulted in a unique, welcoming office space achieving LEED Gold Certification.
